Proffitt Family Cattle Co. operates a 100% grass-fed beef farm in Blacksburg, SC, Kings Mountain and Shelby, NC. The Proffitt family offers beef by the cut and by the pound. All beef cuts are available for purchase at the farm store and the 2 farmers markets where they sell in Charlotte every Saturday, year around. All beef is frmo cows that are born and raised on their pasture eating only pasture grasses and hay. As of September 2009 their pastures became the first USDA Certified Organic Beef pastures in North Carolina or South Carolina. They feed no corn, no grains, and, of course, no hormones or antibiotics are used farms. Proffitt Cattle Co. beef comes from certified USDA Organic cattle grazing on certified organic pastures. It is USDA processed and will carry the organic stamp by Feb.2012. The Proffitt family's mission is to produce high quality food grown in a natural way. To provide the animals with an environment that lets them live their entire lives as nature intended a cow should, by allowing them to forage exclusively on pasture. On the farm they use management practices that enable the cows and pastureland to sustain each other with only rain and sunshine. It's a beautiful thing!
Proffitt Family Cattle Co. is located in the foothills of North Carolina just 35 miles west of Charlotte. They are a local source for all natural, grass fed, certified organic beef for Charlotte and the surrounding region.
They practice a low stress style of cattle management, by raising healthy, happy animals.
Proffitt Family Cattle Co. is an American Grassfed Association producer member and an Animal Welfare Approved family farm.
They sell their frozen product each weekend at 2 farmers markets in Charlotte. Visitors may also purchase from the farm store as it is 1/2 miles off Hwy. 74 in Kings Mountain.
