The Mushroom Hut @ Fox Farms

About Us

We are excited about our new on-farm kitchen facility! We now offer heirloom Bloody Butcher cornmeal we are grinding. We also offer jellies made from flowers! We are growing our own Cascade Hops and making Hops Flower Jelly! Follow us on Twitter (The Mushroom Hut @ Fox Farms)and Facebook (Susan Tipton-Fox) and view our farm photos. We are now offering goat rentals and CSA shares. Each year we try to diversify into a more sustainable farm and way of life. We have a dairy goat farm where all the animals are treated humanely! We will be offering "Animal Feed" goats' milk. We will also be offering informative workshops through Mayland (Yancey Campus) and on-farm workshops on keeping and taking care of goats, making cheese, growing Shiitake Mushrooms and more. We are a registered nursery (collected plant). We offer in-season produce and berries. We want to offer a naturally grown product. We are also Seed Savers. We use natural fertilize/compost from the farm for the gardens, we offer pollinator/beneficial insect habitats to encourage natural pest management and increase fruit/produce production. We use cover crops and crop rotation. We have Shiitake mushrooms grown naturally on logs. We offer Mountain/Native American crafts (drums, dreamcatchers, corn shuck dolls, hand-made forged knives, goats' milk soap, hand-made necklaces from silky kyanite/bone, hand-made tiles and more. We will also be offering teas and smudge sticks.
